Megatrends 2010, The Book

Megatrends 2010 Book Cover, by author Patricia Aburdene (http://jamesmcgillis.com

"Fasten Your Seatbelts, Its Going to be a Bumpy Night"

Did you ever meet a best-selling author? Were you intimidated, awed or star-struck?

If so, please take the time to meet Patricia Aburdene. Not only is Patricia the co-author of the best-selling Megatrends 2000, her current book, Megatrends 2010 is now available in a trade-paper edition.

As Patricia told 650 Shaumbra at the Quantum Leap Celebration in Taos, New Mexico on September 18, 2007, what she calls "Megatrends" start slowly. However, once they reach their “tipping point”, they become unstoppable, inevitable and long lasting.

Getting back to Patricia, herself, she is one of the most delightful people you would ever want to listen to or meet. As a former librarian, she is adept at explaining complex subjects in an easy-to-understand fashion.

Patricia told us that Megatrends can be social, economic, demographic, environmental or even spiritual. From the rise of the IPod, to consciousness of global warming, to the popularity of yoga and meditation, each Megatrend takes on a life of its own. By definition, a Megatrend becomes a force for all of humanity to reckon with over an extended period.

Although this best-selling book was first published in 2005, its time is really Now. Patricia, being a good trend-follower, was way ahead of the "consciousness curve" in 2005.

The subtitle of Megatrends 2010 is “The Rise of Conscious Capitalism”. I do not want to give away all of the fun you will have reading the book or listening to the CD’s, but I will say that Patricia makes a compelling case for bringing spiritualism into our business activities. Her thesis is not just that it is the “right thing to do”. By bringing both social consciousness and spiritual consciousness into our business activities, we can alchemically transmute “spiritual energy” into the “abundance” we all desire. As proof of this concept, she points out that the average stock value of the S&P 500 rose 100% in a ten-year period, while the thirty most environmentally, socially and spiritually conscious companies had a rise in stock value of 700%.

It sounds like we may have a Megatrend on our hands. For the “unconscious capitalists” among us, Bette Davis’ line from the 1950 drama, “All About Eve” comes to mind: “Fasten your seatbelts, it’s going to be a bumpy night.

Do You Inspire Consciousness? Take the Quantum Leap

Did you sleep well last night? Did you dream anything unusual? Do you feel any different today? If so, you may be feeling the new energy of the Quantum Leap.

At midnight, Taos, NM time there was a subtle (like a train wreck) shift in consciousness in our world. If you allow yourself to perceive this change in the physics of our world, you will enter a new era of creativity and opportunity. If you wish to remain “where you are” and hold a tether to the Old Energy, that is perfectly acceptable. If you wish to go forward, you may to do so.

Here in Taos, 650 Shaumbra met yesterday, holding the intention that our world and therefore our universe are ready, able and willing to change away from duality, moving now towards a unity consciousness. If only the square root of one percent of a given population elect to do so, we can accomplish a shift of consciousness. I will let the mathematicians among us help decide if 650 people represent a sufficient number to accomplish that goal. In any event, as more of us “sign on” to new energy consciousness, a critical-mass or tipping-point cannot be far away.

I would like to thank Geoffrey Hoppe of the Crimson Circle Geoffrey Hoppe & Wife, Linda Benyo - On Stage at the Quantum Leap Celebration in Taos, New Mexico in September 2007 - Click for larger image (http://jamesmcgillis.com)for leading the way. Through his channelings of Tobias, Geoffrey helped bring the Old Energy Train into the station last night. Those who wished to, disembarked, changed platforms and got on the New Energy Express

Since this is new-dimension consciousness, you can hop aboard at any time, from any place. There is no cost to ride; there are no rules to follow or slogans to remember. All you need do is look around and notice the beginnings of change. As a full creator, you too can participate. All it takes is one small offering of Love.

I will look forward to seeing each of you on the New Energy Express.  Your comments are welcome.  Just click on my signature.

RV Rig, Near Phoenix, AZ

Flame-Out in Phoenix, Arizona 2007

Thursday was my day for both old and new energies. After a morning appointment in Phoenix, I returned to my coach in Black Canyon City, ready to move on... or so I thought.

The predicted high temperature in Phoenix that day was 109 degrees, so I had left the air-conditioning in my coach set at 80 degrees. Upon my return, I sat comfortably in my coach. As the day progressed, the temperatures outside were rising, thus putting greater strain on my A/C.

Around Noon, my A/C faltered briefly, but I was obliviously unconcerned. Ten minutes later, the machine seized, causing a flash fire in the controller box above my head. After flipping off the circuit breaker, I could still hear crackling sounds for another thirty seconds. Then smoke poured out of one of the A/C vents. “Not good”, I said to myself. Since it was time to get out of Phoenix anyway, I called ahead to the RV repair shop in Flagstaff and arranged for a diagnosis of my problem later that day.

When I arrived at Flagstaff, the elevation of 7000 feet made for a pleasant 82-degree air temperature. The friendly staff at the RV repair facility quickly diagnosed my problem. “Catastrophic meltdown of the controller box”, caused by an unknown failure in the A/C unit was the story. “We have a new one in stock and can install it this afternoon for $825”, the service manager said. “Let’s do it”, I said.

While waiting for the installation, I spent an hour with a pleasant British couple who were waiting for a toilet-repair on their rented Cruise America RV. They were plying their way across America on Old Route 66, wherever they could find it. Among other things I learned, gasoline in Great Britain is the equivalent of $20 per gallon and that in the south of England, you cannot water your yard with a garden hose.

By seven PM, I was ready to start out on the 177-mile trip east on I-40, to Gallup, New Mexico. Arriving at the USA RV Park here at 10:45 PM MDT, the owner had graciously waited for me in the office until I appeared.

If we represent Old Energy through fossil fuels, central air-conditioning, mobile telephones and plug-in electrical, Thursday was my Old Energy day. The only New Energy I could find was in the help that people provided me, good company as I waited for my coach and acceptance of that which I could not change.

The ruins at Chaco Canyon (jamesmcgillis.com)At noon today, I will start out for Chaco Culture National Historical Park (www.nps.gov/chcu/), in Northwestern New Mexico. If Phoenix, Flagstaff and Gallup are Old Energy, “on the grid” cities, Chaco Canyon is a New Energy, “off the grid” place. For the next two days and nights, I will be where no mobile telephone or wireless internet connection dares to go. I will be visiting ruins of “pre-Puebloan”, “Anasazi” or “pre-Columbian” cultures, depending on which description you might like to use. From 600 AD through 1200 AD, Chaco Canyon was the premier human cultural center in Western North America.

Tonight, one hundred miles form the nearest large city, I will stargaze with the “local” telescopic community on a near-moonless night. After two nights in Chaco Canyon, I will “emerge” from the land of ancient cultures and make my way to Taos, New Mexico on Sunday, September 16. Until then, please accept my offering of Happy New Energy to you.
